All about Colour Contact Lenses

Colour contact lens lets you transform your look by changing your eye colour. You can get a subtle or a bold look or anything in between with these Colourvue colour contacts.

Colour contacts are available in prescription as well as Plano form. Prescription contact lenses helps correcting your vision plus enhancing your eye colour where as Plano contacts are worn for cosmetic purposes only.

These lenses are designed to look natural and mimic the coloured part of the eye, ‘iris’. The centre part of the lens that lies over the pupil is left clear for visibility. Coloured lenses comes in three types of tints namely,

Visibility- they have relatively faint tint and do not alter your eye colour.

Enhancement- it has a little darker tint than the visibility lens. It enhances the natural eye colour and is best suited for people with light coloured eyes.

Opaque- opaque lenses have a non transparent tint that drastically changes the colour of your eye. Colours like hazel, brown, green, violet, gray and many more come in opaque tints. Theatrical or costume contact lenses also fall under this category.

What colour would suit you depends on many factors like your hair colour, skin tone and of course your eye colour. It also depends on the look you want to achieve, subtle, dramatic or natural. For light coloured eye people enhancement tint contacts define the edges of the iris and deepen the colour. For people with dark coloured eyes opaque coloured tints is their best bet.

Coloured lenses are safe to wear as long as they are cared for. They should be taken care of like you do for regular contact lenses.
